Organize your spices.
I promise this will change your life and the way you cook.
Back in August when John moved to Boston for work and was gone during the weekdays, I decided it was time to take up some new hobbies and tap into my rainy day projects. Well, I didn’t actually do any of them, I just found comfort in having the option to fill my time.
Fast forward nine months and one global pandemic later, and I finally got one of them done: Organizing my spices.
I spent a couple of hours last Sunday transferring all of my dried spices into uniform containers, slapping a cute, premade label on each of them and arranging them alphabetically. This project also gave me a chance to get rid of the spices that were INCREDIBLY expired (hello dried chives from 2017).
I used this kit from Amazon. It comes with 36 jars/lids, an extensive list of labels and a funnel for easy transferring. I would recommend this to anyone who wants this done, but doesn’t want to do that much work.
And yes, it was oddly satisfying when I finished and it’s also way easier to find what I need when I’m cooking now.
