You bought a pound of bacon. Now what?

This is not the first time I’ve taken a strong stance in favor of bacon and shared how much joy it brings our household, and it won’t be the last. That said, buying a full pack of bacon (one pound) is actually a lot to work through between two people before it goes bad. So this time, I set out to use it in four different ways over the course of a week, keeping things interesting and not wasting any.

For transparency, I prefer buying Oscar Mayer Naturally Hardwood Smoked Bacon. I’ve tried a lot of different brands, flavors and types of thickness, but this one tastes the best to me and is versatile.

I’ve written about all of these recipes before, which is a good sign. If I make something more than once, that means it’s starting to become a classic. The one difference I’ll share here is the dressing for the BLT Salad - my mom’s original recipe I shared is really good, but her and I have both converted to this Avocado Lime Ranch now. It makes a big batch, but truly is delightful, tangy and creamy.

BLT Salads are a great way to “eat a salad” that is satisfying because of the bacon and croutons.
